US Ace and Axle Hemp Smokables Soon on SA Shelves

International Ace and Axles CBD smokables will soon be on South African shelves.  That’s according to Labat which secured a 10 year African distribution deal with Ace and Axle’s US-based head office.

CBD pre-rolls likely to sell around R9 each

The premium “hemp pre-rolls” sell in the United States for the equivalent of R180 for a pack of R20,  or just about R9 per cigarette.

The pre-rolls won’t get you high, says Ace and Axle; it uses hemp flower, which is high in cannabidiol (CBD) but low in tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive in cannabis, at less than 0.3%.

CBD effect kicks in quickly

The company claims that smoking an Ace & Axle will calm the consumer down fast.

“The most significant benefit of smoking CBD bud is the fact that it starts taking effect almost immediately,” says Ace & Axle in its marketing material. “Smoking allows the cannabinoids to get into direct contact with the user’s lungs and distribute them all over the body via the bloodstream. The only faster way to get such quick results is by taking CBD intravenously.”

Ace & Axle is sold as cigarettes with a “health conscious” twist, but the focus of its advertising material resembles the tobacco-cigarette era when those were presented as a cool lifestyle choice.

  1. I agree with Jeff…one are they going to custom clear this product into southAfrica with current regulations? Who is the importer / distributor in SouthAfrica>?

  2. How is LABAT planning to do this within the current regulatory guidelines? Surely this won’t be considered a compliment medicine? Perhaps in a year or so, thus the 10 year agreement.
