‘None But Ourselves Can Free Our Minds’: 40 Years Since Marijuana Icon Bob Marley Passed Away

Bob Marley would have turned 75 in February this year.  He was 36 years old when he passed away 40 years ago from cancer on 11 May 1981.  Marley’s use of cannabis was religious rather than recreational. Like other Rastafarians, he regarded ganga as a holy sacrament to be used every day. However, today he has become an iconic symbol of the freedom to use cannabis for whatever reason one may want to.
