According to the South African Health Product Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) website posting on 28 February 2025, two cannabis cultvators have permanently ceased operations:

  • Eastern Cape-based Africannabis Holdings (Pty) and

  • Thusanong Enabling Support Services (Pty) Ltd in KwaZulu Natal.

Their licenses, which were issued in 2020, thus fall away.

SAHPRA says two Western Cape licenses were revoked – those of:

  • Aurora Natural Medicines (Pty) Ltd and

  • Neo Pharm (Pty) Ltd.

No reasons were given but they are listed online as having no responsible pharmacist on board.

Four licenses were cancelled, with no reasons given. They are:

  • First Growth Holdings (Pty) Ltd (Western Cape)

  • Silverleaf Cultivation SA (Pty) Ltd (Free State)

  • Origo International Holdings (Pty) Ltd (Gauteng)

  • Executive Corp Security Solutions (Pty) Ltd t/a 46 Woborn (Gauteng).

According to the SAHPRA website there are 94 registered cannabis cultivators on its books. Details here.
