About Franco Lova
Franco, the Spaniard, probably did more single-handedly to help the Eastern Cape unlicensed growers raise their game than anyone else. The Strain Hunters documentary host fell in love with what used to be Transkei and lived there for two years in the mid-2000’s, introducing commercial cultivars and modern farming techniques. Sadly he passed away from Malaria on a return trip from Africa in 2017 at the age of 42. His colleagues returned to South Africa recently to honour their colleague with Strain Hunters South Africa Expedition 10.
